Newsletter 22nd September 2020
Covid Procedures:
The procedures around having a positive case in school have evolved during the past couple of
weeks.
I am going to set them out below:
● I know we said we were going to switch off the school mobile but I think we do need a way
of parents reporting in a positive test outside of school hours. The mobile is switched back
on and fully charged and the mobile number is 07561612289. This number will get you
through to Mrs FD
● The school reports the positive case in. We will need your help to provide the details
needed.
● Potential close contacts will receive a letter advising them they may be a contact. The letter
informs close contacts to self-isolate for 24 hours whilst contact tracers confirm close
contacts.
● All other parents will also receive a letter telling you of a possible case within the school.
● A further letter will be sent to all confirmed close contacts informing them of the need to
self-isolate for a further 13 days.
School times:
Can you please make sure your child arrives in school on time. Some children are getting later every
day which is causing an issue in the morning.
Lunch Times
We have staggered lunchtimes, this means every class has half an hour in the hall to eat and half an
hour outside. Parents of our younger children may realise some children are not eating everything
in their packed lunch bags but we wanted to reassure you that they are having a full half an hour to
eat.
Breakfast Club:
I have been told parents should have been informed by now if you DID NOT get a place in Breakfast
club. If you applied on line and have not received an e-mail you should assume you DID get a place. If
you are unsure, just give us a ring and we can check.
If you have been successful in securing a space for your child in our Breakfast Club here are the
arrangements.
Breakfast Club will start on the 28th September 2020 @ 7.55am
Children will need to be dropped off by 8.05am the latest. They will not be able to access the Club
after this time.
Please can 1 Parent/Carer only drop off your child to the Breakfast Club.
If your child or another member of the household has symptoms of Covid-19 please do not attend
under any circumstance.
Children will need to be dropped off by the gate. Don’t forget an adult needs to sign a child in on the
breakfast club register.
The children will join their contact groups as they arrive at school.
A risk assessment is in place and all procedures are being followed rigidly throughout the Breakfast
Club and school.
If you no longer require a place for your child could you please let us know as there is long waiting
list
Thank you for your support in this matter.
The drive:
Due to the staggered starts and finish times of classes and staff the drive is in constant use. Please
don’t park across it or obstruct it. As well as keeping the drive clear for staff to enter we also need to
keep the drive clear as children approaching the school from the Ystrad side of the school need to be
able to see clearly to cross the mouth of the drive. Could you please supervise your child crossing the
drive or make them aware of the need to stop, look and listen at the drive just as they would if they
were crossing a road.
Record Keeping:
By law, we are now obligated to keep records of all visitors in school for 21 days. If you need to come
into the school we will need you to sign in using a paper copy sign in sheet. If you have any queries
on how we will use or store your data a Privacy Notice for record keeping for Track and Trace
purposes is on our website.
Finally:
These are scary and strange times but I just wanted to reassure parents that our school continues to
be a happy place. You would never believe some of the children have been away from school for 6
months. Everyone has settled in really well, we have lots of smiling faces and school is a calm and
positive place to be.
Thanks for your continued support
Mrs FD
